Electronic Records
What Electronic means depends on who you ask and how old they are
Loosely speaking, all contemporary music is electronic....
Recording and studio techniques have incorporated technology since the 1960s. We prefer a narrow definition. For us, "electronic music" is digital from start to finish - there are few analog instruments like guitars or drums, and vocals are not the central engine of the work. If that makes us makes old, so be it.
Genres are assigned to our music by Discogs users. As such, you'll find records here that are electronic to them and not (at all!) to us. There will be 1970s Philly soul, punk bands with synths, and Taylor Swift. There's not much we can do about this.
To reduce the pain, try filtering by styles. We've added a few here and will keep adding them. You can find more in the filters. Avoid the 'Downtempo' style, though, as no one under 30 seems to know what that means.
